Dentist - Brookvale


The purpose of this position is to provide oral health and clinical services to members of HCF within agreed targets and quality KPI’s.


The Dentist works with their Dental Assistant in the delivery of quality oral health and clinical services.

The Dentist is responsible for:

  • Performing all aspects of dentistry and oral care as required to ensure quality care of patients
  • Providing clinical services in a productive and efficient manner
  • Accurately recording all data and information relevant to quality patient care and the needs of the Dental Centre Network (DCN)
  • Not over servicing our members, and reporting any fraudulent behaviour or activity
  • following DCN policies
  • achieving individual KPI’s

Within delegation the Dentist is responsible for their practice within DCN and they must be a registered as a general practising dentist.

The Dentist must ensure compliance to:

  • AHPRA policies, codes and guidelines
  • Any specific requirements for the Dental Board of Australia
  • Radiology regulations
  • HCF clinical and business policies and procedures

KEY TASKS

  • Provide proficient clinical and preventive oriented oral health care
  • Liaise with customers (other dentists, staff and members) to ensure efficient, effective and productive services
  • Maintain accurate and legible patient clinical records
  • Maintain a clean and safe clinical workspace
  • Maintain compliance with all clinical and business requirements
  • Complying with all DCN clinical policies
  • Following approved clinical delegation set by HCF and managed by the Head of Dental Services, the Dentist in Charge for their dental centre and their mentoring advisor if one has been assigned to them
  • Achieve their individual KPI targets which includes but not limited to productivity, clinical quality and CPD requirements
  • Maintain a high level of clinical skills and meet minimum levels in order to be accredited for specific areas of dental practice if required by HCF
  • Reinforce the value of private health insurance products and being a member of HCF
  • Provide a coordinated approach to patient care to HCF members on a cost-effective basis
  • Support the Head of Dental Services and DinC for their dental centre in ensuring the interest of HCF and its members are ably represented to the Dental Board, other relevant regulators and the Australian Dental Association.
  • Meet HCF member needs as a patient requiring dental treatment as well as for quality customer service

WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY (WHS) RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cooperate with HCF in relation to activities taken by the company to comply with WHS legislation
  • Comply with WHS policies, procedures and safe work practices
  • Adopt work practices that support WHS programs
  • Ensure that any hazardous conditions, near misses and injuries are reported immediately to the manager
  • Participate in meetings, training and other health and safety activities
  • Not wilfully place at risk the health or safety of any person in the workplace
