Payroll Implementation Specialist (7- month FTC)


The Payroll Implementation Specialist is responsible for managing the migration process from HCF’s legacy payroll system Preceda to iChris. The role drives design and configuration decisions ensuring iChris is aligned with HCF’s operational requirements, legislative and regulatory compliance, and payments are processed accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide input on the project timeline and milestones
  • Provide regular project status updates on key deliverables
  • Engage and collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure alignment of delivery
  • Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations on design and configuration to support decision making and ensure iChris is aligned with HCF’s operational requirements, legislative and regulatory compliance, and payments are processed accurately
  • Undertake regular auditing of information in existing systems to ensure data integrity and accuracy
  • Translate business requirements into system configuration, populate data gathering and configuration workbooks, pre-validate extracted data files, work with implementation team to map and load data into iChris and validate data after it has been converted into iChris
  • Manage and participate in system testing
  • Verify parallel payroll testing results, review and resolve issues from exception reports
  • Develop and deploy cutover plan and complete catchup transaction entries
  • Troubleshoot post implementation issues
  • Create documentation on system configurations and processes
  • Lead and manage the decommission plan of Preceda including data extraction and retention
  • Support the project team with technical queries

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Applications or related discipline
  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end iChris implementation
  • Strong technical skills in iChris
  • Deep functional understanding of iChris
  • End to end payroll processing experience
  • Sound knowledge of award interpretation, and legislative payroll requirements
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technological solutions
  • Problem solving through analysis
  • Proven ability to develop pragmatic and well considered solutions
  • Process oriented and tech savvy
  • Stakeholder management
  • Change management
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure, with competing priorities
