About the role

We have a permanent opportunity for a Planning Engineer within our Asset Investment Planning team. You’ll work with a number of groups within Water Corporation to optimise the Regional Conveyance Network to ensure our water and wastewater conveyance system can support growth and transfer water efficiently and effectively. You’ll be responsible for assessing the risk and improving customer service levels with respect to conveyance planning for water networks. This role will be based in Leederville and reporting to the Manager Assets SWR&GSR.

What the role will involve

  • Undertake hydraulic modelling & analysis for the assessment of asset and system performance & risk to inform investment decisions
  • Undertake water & wastewater network planning and develop capital, operating, regulatory, monitoring & maintenance plans
  • Develop investment programs, business cases and projects that mitigate risk and meet our asset investment objectives
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders regarding planning options, solutions and recommendations

Key skills and experience

You’ll have a qualification in civil engineering or relevant discipline, along with conveyance planning for wastewater and/or water schemes, demonstrated knowledge of hydraulic modelling, report writing and presentation skills. Previous experience with financial analysis, including discounted cash flow analysis, and ability to build and drive positive and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders will be important in this role.
