About the Role
Based in our West End, Brisbane office the Project Accountant will support our QLD Water project at the Port of Brisbane, driving business performance through accurate reporting, maximising opportunities and minimising risks, maintaining a clear P&L and transparent balance sheet and ensuring a healthy cash flow through effective debtor and creditor management.
Key responsibilities include –
- Month end consolidations
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Analytics driven decision making providing clear insights into performance metrics
- Operational and technical excellence – understanding contract commercials to ensure accurate revenue recognition
- Audit and improve finance systems and processes
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, commerce or accounting OR
- 5+ years Senior Finance & Accounting Administration experience, looking for that next step in their career.
- Advanced user on Microsoft suite (ability to use pivot tables, lookups, formulas etc)
- Proficient on SAP (and Ariba preferred)
- Ability to influence non-financial personnel
- Be able to demonstrate strong communication and time management skills, high attention to detail and sound leadership attributes
- Experience in project finance roles in the construction industry, preferably with a Tier 1 Water Utilities or Construction organisations (desirable)
- CPA / CA qualification preferred, but not essential
