Start Your Snowy Journey

Are you ready to be part of a world-class project that’s reshaping Australia’s energy future? Snowy 2.0, the largest renewable energy initiative in the country, is an ambitious expansion of the iconic Snowy Scheme. Focused on providing on-demand power and vast storage capacity, this project is paving the way for a sustainable, low-carbon future.

The Role

Based in Cooma on a 5/2 roster with weekly travel to site, the Project Manager – TBM 4 (Construction) will lead the safe, efficient delivery of TBM activities for the Snowy 2.0 project. This hands-on role involves end-to-end management of tunneling operations, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, and all safety and environmental requirements. Success in this position requires strong operational oversight and effective coordination with engineering, construction, safety, and maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations to ensure safety, quality, and schedule targets are met.
  • Plan and coordinate resources, including shift management, equipment and materials.
  • Lead TBM crews and promote teamwork across engineering, contractors, and other teams.
  • Ensure strong communication between shifts and departments for smooth operations.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance and addressing issues promptly.
  • Oversee TBM maintenance and work with contractors to minimise downtime.
  • Track performance, maintain accurate records, and report on progress.
  • Manage operational budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Drive problem-solving and continuous improvement across TBM operations.

What You'll Bring

A degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field is required, with advanced training in tunneling or TBM operations considered a plus. You will have proven experience in tunneling, including a leadership role overseeing TBM operations—ideally on large-scale or high-risk infrastructure projects. A solid understanding of TBM technology, tunneling processes, and safety standards is essential. You’ll bring strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders. Excellent organisational skills, project management capabilities, and relevant safety or TBM certifications will further support your success in this role.

At Snowy 2.0, we live by the principle of "One Team Working Together." If you’re a problem-solver with a passion for driving change and making a real impact, we want to hear from you! Join us in shaping the future of renewable energy and apply now. Together, we’ll deliver one of the most significant infrastructure projects in Australia’s history.
