The Role

Based in Cooma, the Risk Assurance Officer is responsible for providing oversight and assurance on risk management practices across all phases of the construction project. This includes identifying, assessing, and monitoring project risks, ensuring compliance with the client’s governance frameworks, and facilitating the implementation of effective risk mitigation strategies. The role involves working closely with internal project teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure risks are proactively managed and reported,

As this position is based in Cooma, the ideal candidate will be available to relocate. Snowy Hydro offers a relocation package to support your move. Alternatively, we are open to considering weekly FIFO (Fly-In, Fly-Out) or DIDO (Drive-In, Drive-Out) arrangements to Cooma.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and implementing the projects risk management frameworks
  • Facilitating risk workshops, with project stakeholders to identify and evaluate potential risks
  • Maintaining and regularly updating the project's risk register.
  • Monitoring contractor compliance with risk management plans and contractual obligations
  • Conducting assurance reviews to assess the effectiveness of risk controls and mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and deliver regular risk assurance reports to the client, project board, or steering committee.
  • Providing input into governance frameworks and decision-making processes, ensuring risks are considered and documented.
  • Liaising with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to coordinate risk-related activities.
  • Support document control processes related to risk management.
  • Ensuring risk related records, registers, and reports are maintained accurately and are audit-ready.
