Area Manager NSW Metro South


Ventia has been awarded a new contract with NBN Co over five years, with the option to extend. We are seeking to hire an Area Manager to look after the NSW Metro South portfolio, to manage the execution of approved plans and operational practices to provide reliable and predictable performances.

What you’ll do:
You’ll play a critical role in primarily focusing on operational delivery on the nbn® network across Southern Sydney suburbs

Reporting into the Regional manager, with a team of Field Managers as direct reports; responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the progress of works at various sites in coordination with project staff, to meet client expectations within time constraints, budget, safety, environmental and quality.
  • Ensure full delivery team meets or exceeds performance, quality and end user customer experience requirements. 
  • Proactively forecast, plan and review project execution in conjunction with relevant personnel in accordance with the program of work and other contractual requirements.
  • Facilitate and manage a team of field managers for your region to ensure projects are delivered to budget, schedule and quality specifications.
  • Promote innovative approaches to project issues and variations that optimise profitability whist ensuring service excellence.
  • Site Inspection Planning, Contingency Planning, Works Handover, and Operational management
  • Participate and lead incident and accident investigations, developing corrective action plans and ensuring lessons learnt are communicated. 
  • Weekly Quality & HSE Audits.

To be successful, you’ll need:

  • 5+ years’ experience working within an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) environment
  • 5+ years’ experience working within a ticket-of-work environment preferred
  • Extensive experience working on nbn technologies at multiple sites with internal and external stakeholders.    
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership capability working with large dispersed and diverse teams internally as well as subcontractors.
  • Exceptional business acumen and written and verbal communications skills.
  • Customer focused managing complaints and stakeholder escalations.
  • Confident in business partnering with a wide variety of stakeholders including operational areas and members of our Telecommunications Leadership Team.
  • Knowledge of FTTX or HFC activation and assurance activities
  • Knowledge & experience of nbn network and build process
  • NSW Valid Drivers Licence 
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home
