Senior Analyst - Financial Control

About the role:

As our Senior Analyst - Financial Control, you will be an integral part of continuous uplifting of the financial control environment for Ventia.

This is far from your typical finance role, you will collaborate with finance leaders across our diverse business sectors, building the maturity of our finance function, deliver a wide range of projects and support our organisation to achieve its strategic goals.

Your subject matter expertise will maintain and develop the financial integrity and quality of financial processes together with driving strong internal control frameworks. 

Based at our North Sydney corporate head office right across the road from the train station we offer a flexible work atmosphere splitting your time in the office and work from home. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Review, establish and strengthen internal control processes to ensure financial integrity and quality.
  • Identify risk by proactively seeking out issues and implement solutions as well as training and frameworks to improve internal control environments across our business sectors.
  • Ensure relevant accounting processes are operating in line with financial policies and standards.
  • Seek opportunities for technology to automate workload, improve efficiency and internal control.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and were applicable coordinate policy and process changes.
  • Prepare and coordinate papers to support executive leadership team and board reporting.
  • Provide support during half year and year end reporting season.
  • Partner with business unit leaders and Group Finance team on organisation wide initiatives. 

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • CA or CPA qualified.
  • Well-developed communication and influencing skills.
  • Excellent understanding of internal financial control process preferably within an ASX listed environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience with implementation of new policy and procedures or process improvement initiatives. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment on change, process optimisation, and continuous improvement.
