About the role

We have a 12-month fixed term opportunity within our Data & Analytics team based in our Leederville office, for a Principal - Spatial Solutions responsible for leading, developing and engineering geographical information systems (GIS) solutions. In this role, you will develop standards, provide expert consulting and technical advice, develop policy and governance frameworks and apply best practice to our Enterprise GIS Systems. You would also, manage the evaluation, and implementation of current and emerging spatial technologies, to ensure effective development, migration and optimisation of the new Geospatial platform.

About you

There are a few things that we’ll look for in your CV;

You will have a degree qualification in GIS, spatial data management, remote sensing, or relevant discipline, along with substantial experience in developing and implementing GIS solutions for corporations with large operational footprints. Desirable but not essential, will be your knowledge and experience working with Spatial Intelligence in the water industry, utility service provider or similar.

What the role will involve

  • Project Leadership: Key support in the planning, execution, and delivery of the Enterprise GIS System project, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and timelines.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide advanced technical Spatial guidance and support in GIS technologies, spatial data management, and system integration.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, address concerns, and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • System Design and Architecture: Develop, implement and provide advice on system architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and security of the GIS system.
  • Quality Assurance and Governance: Establish and enforce quality standards, policy and best practices for GIS data, workflows, and system functionality.
  • Problem-Solving: Provide analytical capabilities by using problem-solving methodologies to address technical challenges and optimise system performance.
