About the role:

Reporting to the Lead – Materials Management, this role will ensure inventory and materials management control, optimisation direction and reporting processes, systems and standards are in place to ensure timely state-wide stock re-order and supply of product/stock to our customers across all Water Corporation stores and depots across the state.

In this role, you are required to travel across the states and would require a full clean C-Class drivers’ licence.

About you:

There are a few things we would like to see in your CV;

  • Tertiary (Post Secondary) level qualification in a business related discipline
  • Extensive procurement and Materials management experience in a large multi-disciplined engineering focussed commercial organisation.
  • Considerable experience and demonstrated capability in the use of computer-based procurement, materials management and inventory optimisation systems/tools.
  • Outstanding analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of contemporary procurement and materials management theory and practice, including regulatory requirements and codes of practice.
  • C-Class drivers’ licence and willingness to travel across the state when required.

What will your work look like?

  • Develop and implement supply chain and materials management strategies that increase efficiency/working capital, speed, stock turn and reduce cost
  • Collaborate with operations, regions and other departments to identify vulnerabilities and opportunities to close operational gaps i.e. materials management, improve stock service levels and reduce redundancy.
  • Provide materials management education and training to customers and users of SAP MM, SRM e-Procurement and inventory management and optimisation tools.
  • Analyse, report and drive improvement in inventory availability, increasing inventory efficiency and inventory turnover, ensuring that the corporation makes business driven supply chain decisions
  • Analyse and action routine and exception reporting for MRP, forecasting and re-order settings optimisation and change management.
  • Develop, maintain and report agreed KPI’s to ensure compliance, targets are achieved, and continuous improvement benefits are tracked.
