About the role:

We are seeking a Senior Engineer – OT Maintenance to support the Water Corporation’s expansive Operations Technology (OT) infrastructure. Working as part of the Reliability and Technical Systems team, you will monitor system performance to ensure availability and reliability and resource utilisation of the SCADA system.

This role will require the successful applicant to have the ability to work from regional or remote locations and an ability to work on a rotating roster schedule (including evenings and weekends) to provide 24/7 OT maintenance support. You will also be required to hold a current valid Western Australian driver’s licence.

About you:

There are a few things we would like to see in your CV;

  • Degree level qualified in Electrical, instrumentation and control or Electronics Engineering OR relevant industrial experience
  • Substantial engineering experience and advanced knowledge across a number of technologies, products and platforms: EcoStructure Geo SCADA Expert or experience utilising Siemens Step 7 or TIA portal will be highly regarded
  • You will have experience working with SCADA and Plant Control protocols including DNP3, Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, SCADA WAN, including TCP/IP networking and routing
  • Demonstrates considerable knowledge of engineering principles and practices relating to design, development, implementation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of SCADA, instrumentation, automation and control systems
  • Considerable experience in technical report writing and in review of engineering systems
  • Knowledge of water or wastewater related infrastructure asset management and maintenance techniques desirable

What will your work look like?

  • Lead technology and SCADA maintenance projects and provide technical advice and support on SCADA and control systems
  • Support implementation of the requirements in the Automation, Control and data collection standards and manage audit processes to ensure compliance
  • Develop and contribute to business cases for strategic initiatives
  • Develop and review strategies for improvement of data integrity including working with other teams in developing audit and validation tools
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a process capability maturity model and an Automation, Control and data collection asset management competency assessment framework
  • Maintain awareness of leading industry practices and improvement opportunities for operations, asset management and planning deployment of Automation, Control and data collection technologies
